With a legacy of over 50 years of serving Melbourne, we offer a journey through Italys’ rustic culinary landscape, right in the heart of Laverton: reflecting our commitment to being the cornerstone in the hearts of our guests.
As our ancestors journeyed to Australia, they carried with them the essence of Italian culinary tradition: olive oil, garlic, pizza, pasta, wine, and coffee. These cherished ingredients have woven themselves into the fabric of our culture, shaping the vibrant cuisine and coffee culture we proudly call our own. We are thankful to our Italian families—our mothers, nonna’s, and aunties—for generously sharing and preserving their timeless recipes, brimming with the goodness of simple, fresh ingredients.

Tonight myself and 3 girlfriends were venturing out for dinner and a catch up. We usually stay local. We decided to try Il Corso and we are all so glad we did!
Staff were all really friendly, made great recommendations and nothing was too much trouble. My friend needs gluten free food and there were some tasty options for her. Staff were really accommodating and helpful ensuring she enjoyed her meal to.
We all had pasta & risotto dishes and they were beautiful!. The food was tasty, hot, really reasonable portions and very reasonable prices. House wine was lovely. We are all so keen to go back!!
In a word, this place is EXCEPTIONAL!
We had a fantastic Italian dinner at Il Corso! Food was amazing and the service was even better. Such genuine warmth from owners Joe and Maria and their son Nicholas as well as all their individual service staff. They really made us feel like we were dining in some Nonna's home!
This restaurant is proud to be 'old school'. Joe has been cooking amazing Italian food since 1971 and the standard really shows. When you go, make sure you ask for their fresh homemade chili oil, that stuff is insanely good!
They’ve only opened just 3 months ago. So glad the west has such a good Italian restaurant! Highly recommended!
Absolutely delighted with our experience at this newly opened family-run Italian restaurant! The quaint and warm atmosphere immediately makes you feel at home. The service is extremely attentive and friendly, making us feel like cherished guests. The quality of the food is exceptional - every dish is bursting with authentic flavours and cooked to perfection. This place has quickly become our new favourite, and we look forward to returning for many more meals. Highly recommend! Thank you so much guys, can't wait to come back! Might have to order through Uber Eats in the interim until we return! :) (Sorry, we missed a few other photos of the other dishes we ordered, we were too excited to eat!)
I’ve been struggling to find good pizza around Truganina lately, but today I tried Il Corso Pizzeria & Restaurant and it was amazing! The pizza was full of flavour and cooked perfectly.
The guy who took my order was so friendly and helpful—I asked for his recommendation, and he really delivered. Great food and great service. I’ll definitely be back!
Drove by a few times and noticed this new place. Gave it a try on a Friday evening and it was bustling, a number of larger family groups. Fortunate to land a table for two without reservations. Thoroughly enjoyed the carbonara and calamari salad. Pasta was nice and creamy and portions were large. Ideal place to share dishes. Glad to see a new Italian joint in the neighbourhood, will be back!
